This week, we had a conversation with Dr. Daria Shapovalova about her recent article on Arctic petroleum extraction and the Paris Agreement’s 2°C degree goal.
Daria is a lecturer in energy law and the co-director of the Aberdeen University Centre for Energy Law, Scotland. Her current research examines climate change and energy law, indigenous rights, and the effectiveness of international law. Daria holds a PhD from the University of Aberdeen and an LLM (National Law Academy of Ukraine, 2012) and an LLM in Public International Law (University of Groningen, 2013). Daria is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy as well as a member of the UK Environmental Law Association, World Commission of Environmental Law, and International Law Association.
