Victoria Bergström is a Research Associate at The Arctic Institute. She contributes to The Arctic This Week (TATW) for the ‘Military | Search and Rescue’ section. Her research focuses are EU-Sámi relations, geopolitics, education in the Arctic, and post-colonial societies
Currently, she is a MA candidate in Global Education at Providence College. She recently graduated with a MA in International Relations, specifying in Geopolitics and Connectivity from the University of Groningen. Her Master’s thesis examined how Geographic software (GIS) affects the geopolitics of Sápmi and West Africa in reassertions of neocolonial control. She graduated from Keene State College with a BA in French from the School of Arts and Humanities and a BA in Geopolitics from the School of Sciences and Social Sciences. Victoria is a host for the European Student Think Tank’s podcast, an English-French youth tutor, and a mapmaker for educational purposes.
