Isha Rao is a Research Intern at The Arctic Institute, contributing to The Arctic This Week’s Take Five, the Institute’s weekly news analysis publication. She is a junior at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, majoring in Science, Technology and International Affairs with a concentration in Energy and Environment, and studying Economics and Mathematics.
Her research interests focus on Arctic geopolitics and regional development, particularly examining the future of Arctic shipping routes and their implications for global trade patterns. She is interested in understanding how energy transitions and infrastructure development shape Arctic economic and political dynamics. Previously, she worked at ClearPath, where she worked on promoting investment in international clean energy research and development.
