Emelie Johansen Wold is a Research Intern at The Arctic Institute, working with TAI’s Editorial Team. Her research interests focus on emergency planning, preparedness, and response. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Center for Crisis Management and Collaboration – Nordlab at Nord University.
In 2024, Emelie graduated from Nord University with an MA in Social Analysis, where she wrote her thesis on the effectiveness of emergency preparedness exercises in enhancing local collaboration among emergency preparedness organizations. She also holds a BA in International Relations, with a focus on Arctic security policy, and wrote her undergraduate thesis on democratization.
