Anna Ivanova is a Research Assistant at The Arctic Institute, contributing to the production of policy briefs for the Institute.
Currently, Anna is a WSU Research Technician with the Division of Governmental Studies and Services and Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at Washington State University in the subfields of Global Politics and Institutions. She is also a visiting scholar for Summer 2024 at the National Academy for Educational Research in Taiwan. Her research centers on Arctic geopolitics and governance, with a particular focus on the Arctic Council.
Anna is studying the Arctic Council as an epistemic community, exploring how international conflict tests the resilience of this international institution. Her work addresses not only the environmental sustainability and international security of the Arctic but also the social justice concerns of the indigenous people of the Arctic Circle. He publications are listed on Google Scholar.
Anna obtained her B.A. in International Relations from Ural Federal University and B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Shanghai Maritime University. She is fluent in Russian, English, and Chinese.
