Myles Fischer is a Research Intern at The Arctic Institute, working with TAI’s Editorial Team. His research interests are in energy and security policy. He is an MA student at Carleton University’s Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, where he is writing a Major Research Essay on Russia’s pursuit of Small Modular Reactor exports. Previously, he worked at Young Canadians for Resources, where he worked to inspire young Canadians to advocate for and participate in Canada’s natural resource sectors.
In 2023, Myles graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA (Honours) in Political Science, where he wrote his undergraduate thesis on the rare earth development strategies of Canada and Greenland. During his undergraduate degree, he held student and intern positions at Crew Energy and at the University for Peace.
